Tower of Atlantis™: a new spin on the theme
Atlantis is hardly a new face in the world of slot games. Lost cities, hidden treasure, ancient ruins... we've all seen those before. That's exactly why Tower of Atlantis™ surprised me. Instead of relying entirely on its underwater setting, it gives Poseidon plenty to do and packs the reels with features that keep popping up.
The first thing I noticed wasn't the scenery or the treasure chests. It was how often something seemed to be happening. Multipliers floated onto the reels, special features appeared unexpectedly, and the bonus round always felt just a few symbols away.
If you're interested in seeing what else has been released recently, the new slots to watch article highlights a few games that have also caught my attention.
After giving Tower of Atlantis™ a spin, here's what stood out to me.

My first impressions of Tower of Atlantis™
I'll be honest, I expected another Atlantis slot with plenty of blue water, a few statues, and the occasional trident symbol. Tower of Atlantis™ certainly has all the visual ingredients you'd expect, but it didn't take long before the gameplay became the main attraction.
I liked that the game doesn't seem in a rush to save all the excitement for the bonus round. Between the multiplier wilds, Poseidon Spins, and the possibility of triggering the Tower of Atlantis™ Bonus, there always seemed to be something worth watching for during regular play.
Poseidon spins take centre stage
The Poseidon Spins Multiplier Feature can appear at random and place multipliers directly onto the reels. But instead of staying in one place, the multipliers rise through the game board. Each move increases their value and triggers another respin. More often than not, I found myself watching the multipliers rather than the symbols because every move carried the possibility of something bigger.
Multiplier wilds keep things interesting
Some of my favourite moments came from the multiplier wilds.
Tower of Atlantis™ includes:
- 2x Wild Multipliers
- 3x Wild Multipliers
- 4x Wild Multipliers
- 5x Wild Multipliers
These symbols substitute for regular paying symbols while also multiplying winning combinations, making them one of the most impactful features in the base game.
A winning combination can look fairly modest one second and suddenly become much more interesting when a multiplier wild lands in the right position. I had several moments where a spin seemed finished, only for a multiplier symbol to change the outcome completely.
The Tower of Atlantis™ bonus feature
If there's one feature that defines this game, it's the Tower of Atlantis™ Bonus. Landing three or more bonus symbols triggers the Tower of Atlantis™ Bonus, where the goal is to climb higher up the tower by collecting Advance symbols and unlocking rewards.
Here's what can appear during the bonus:
- Credit prizes
- Advance symbols
- Prize increase symbols
- Multiplier increase symbols
- Skull symbols
- Restore symbols
- Minor Prize rewards
- Grand Prize rewards
What I found most interesting wasn't the prizes themselves. It was the fact that progress isn't guaranteed.
Skull symbols can disable reels, making it harder to continue your climb. Then a Restore symbol appears and suddenly you're back in business. The feature constantly swings between helping you and getting in your way, which makes every spin feel important.
MegaClimb™ builds momentum
The more I played, the more I realised that MegaClimb™ is really the engine driving the bonus round. Advance symbols move you higher up the tower, unlocking stronger multiplier levels as you progress. It's a simple idea, but it works well because every Advance symbol feels like a genuine step towards something bigger.
It reminded me of some of the ideas I discussed in The Great Game Hunt, where small details and feature design give a game its own personality rather than relying on the theme alone.
A worthy visit to Atlantis?
I'd say yes. Tower of Atlantis™ takes a theme that has appeared in plenty of slot games before and manages to give it a fresh twist. The combination of Poseidon Spins, multiplier wilds, MegaClimb™, and the bonus tower creates an experience that feels busy in a good way, with features regularly stepping into the spotlight.
What I enjoyed most was the sense of progression. Multipliers can appear in the base game, Poseidon's special feature can spring into action unexpectedly, and the tower bonus gives you something to build towards whenever it lands.
Tower of Atlantis™ could easily have been another Atlantis-themed release that blended into the crowd. Instead, it feels like one of those online slots where there's always another feature waiting to grab your attention, from rising multipliers to the climb up the Atlantis tower. Every feature feels connected to the theme, making the journey through the lost city feel engaging from start to finish.
If Tower of Atlantis™ lands on your radar, expect rising multipliers, plenty of feature activity, and a bonus round that keeps you climbing in search of bigger rewards. As visits to Atlantis go, this one was well worth the trip.
