What are the different categories in your casino lobby?
If you’ve ever opened up an online casino and thought, “Wow… where do I even start?” – you’re not alone. Casino lobbies are designed to offer loads of choice, but all those categories can feel a little overwhelming at first.
The good news? Once you know what each section means, finding your favourite casino games (or discovering new ones) becomes much easier – and a lot more fun. Let’s break it all down together.
So, what is a casino lobby?
Think of your casino lobby as your main hub – a bit like the homepage of everything you can play.
Every game is organised into categories so you can skip the endless scrolling and jump straight into something that suits your mood.
Whether you’re into spinning reels, classic table action, or something quick and casual, the lobby is built to guide you there.
What are the main game categories?
Let’s start with the basics – the core sections you’ll likely click into most often.
- Slots: This is usually the biggest section, and honestly, it’s where many players spend most of their time. You’ll find everything here – from classic-style online pokies to modern games packed with features, themes, and bonus rounds.
- Tables: If you prefer something a bit more hands-on, this is your spot. Table games like blackjack and roulette bring in a mix of luck and decision making, which many players enjoy.
- Live Casino: Want something that feels a bit more real? Live Casino games stream real dealers straight to you. It’s as close as you’ll get to the real casino floor without leaving your couch.
- Arcade: Looking for something quick and easy? Arcade games are simple, fast-paced, and perfect if you just want a bit of fun without diving too deep.
- Jackpots: This is where things get exciting. Here you have the chance to play for bigger prize pools – whether fixed amounts or progressive jackpots that grow over time.
- All Games: Not sure what you feel like? “All Games” is your everything-at-once option – great for browsing and discovering something new.
What is the “For You” tab about?
The “For You” tab appears just before the Slots tab and is essentially the page you land on when you log into your casino. Alongside the main game categories, you’ll also see tabs for features like Achievements, Bonus Wheel, Promotions, Bank, and more.
This tab is designed to feel more personal. It highlights games and features based on your activity and what you might enjoy most. In other words, it’s your tailored starting point. Let’s take a closer look at some of the sub-categories.
New & Exclusive
This one’s pretty straightforward – it’s where you’ll find the newest games added to the lobby, along with exclusive titles you might not see elsewhere. If you enjoy being one of the first to try something new, this is definitely worth checking regularly.
Continue Playing
Picked up a game earlier but didn’t finish your session? This section makes it easy to jump straight back in, showing the games you were playing recently so you can continue right where you left off.
Your Favourites
This is your personalised shortlist. It highlights the games you play most often and any you’ve marked as favourites, making it quick and easy to return to the ones you already enjoy.
Popular
Ever wondered what everyone else is playing? These are the games getting the most attention right now – a great place to start if you’re not sure where to jump in.
Achievements Games
Achievements is a popular feature. By playing the online pokies highlighted in this category, you can complete missions, earn Experience Points (XP), and unlock rewards like Bonus Spins and Loyalty Points (LP). The more XP you collect, the higher your rank.
Recommended For You
This section is tailored to your playing style. Based on what you’ve played before, the casino suggests similar games you might enjoy. If you tend to stick to certain themes or features, you’ll likely find more of those here.
Buy Feature Slots
In this section, you’ll find online pokies that include a Buy Feature option. Instead of waiting for a bonus round to trigger during normal gameplay, these games give you the choice to access it instantly.
Best Releases
Think of this as a “handpicked highlights” section. It features games that stand out – whether they’re newly released, highly rated, or gaining popularity. It’s a great shortcut if you want to explore something fresh without too much searching.
Rapid Jackpot Collection
This sub-category features games with Rapid Jackpots – designed to trigger more frequently than traditional jackpots. While the prize amounts may be smaller than major progressives, they tend to appear more often, keeping gameplay engaging.
Jackpot Games
Here you’ll find popular online pokies, some with fixed jackpots (set prize amounts), others with progressive jackpots (which grow over time).
Hot & Cold Games
These labels can sound a bit mysterious, but they’re simple. Hot Games are currently getting a lot of attention and activity, while Cold Games are seeing less play now. It’s important to remember this reflects trends, not outcomes – think of it as a snapshot of what’s popular at the moment.
Why does all this matter?
Once you understand the categories, everything just feels easier.
You can:
- Find what you want faster
- Discover new games more easily
- Explore based on your mood
- Make the most of personalised recommendations
Instead of guessing where to click, you’ll know exactly where to go.
Final thoughts
Casino lobbies might look busy, but they’re designed to make your life easier. Each category has a purpose – whether it’s helping you find new online pokies, track your rewards, or jump into your favourite style of play.
Once you get familiar with how it all works, browsing stops feeling overwhelming and starts feeling like part of the fun.
