The Basics
Aquatic Treasures™ plays out over a standard online slots game format, with 3 rows of 5 reels, and 20 fixed paylines. While many online casino games have their various buttons on the bottom of the screen, Aquatic Treasures has all of it on the right-hand side, which actually does a great job of opening up the field of vision and the playing space. These buttons include those for spinning the reels, as well as autoplay. Shimmering Features
As with most online slots out there, Aquatic Treasures™ boasts two special symbols, namely a Wild and a Scatter. Interestingly, while the Wild usually substitutes for all other symbols except the Scatter, in this game, it is able to take its place. This Wild is represented by the aforementioned friendly dolphin. Not only does it have the power to take the place of other symbols, it will also expand to cover an entire reel when it lands. Every adjacent Wild that lands thereafter will see that image of the dolphin grow larger until – hopefully – it covers a 3x3 space on the grid – the Wild can only land on reels 2, 3 and 4. The Scatter is represented by two golden dolphins swimming in a swirl, from nose to tail, with a shimmering pearl between them. When at least 3 of this symbol land, they will trigger a round of Free Spins, and instead of more Scatters triggering more Free Spins, they will increase the amount of extra bonus credits earned.
Last, but definitely not least, is the Double Up feature. This works much the same as the Gamble feature found in plenty of other online casino games. Put simply, after a winning spin, players can choose to try and double their winnings by guessing whether or not a flipped coin will land on tails or heads. If they guess correctly, whatever they won on that spin will be doubled. One doesn’t need to take the chance if they choose not to, but having the option adds an extra fun twist.
